What your viewers see

Every input gets a normal scene and a low-bitrate scene, made for you in OBS. Pick the thresholds; rtmp.tw does the rest.

  1. Good signal. Your camera, full quality.
  2. Signal gets weak. Your “low” scene: a message over the picture, so viewers know you’re fine.
  3. Signal lost. Your BRB scene, while every destination stays connected.
  4. Signal back. Straight back to your camera. No one touches a button.

Questions

Does it really never drop?

Your connection will still drop sometimes. That is the point: when it does, your viewers see a backup scene instead of a dead stream, and it returns to you automatically. Twitch and YouTube stay connected the whole time, because the upload to them comes from our servers.

What do I stream from?

Anything that speaks SRT, SRTLA or RTMP: OBS on your PC or laptop, BELABOX, IRL Pro, Moblin, Larix, or a camera with RTMP output.

I already stream with OBS at home. Why use this?

Keep your OBS for your game and camera, and send its output to rtmp.tw instead of straight to Twitch. If your connection or PC hiccups, the cloud OBS shows your BRB scene and keeps every platform connected, then switches back when you return. The OBS dock puts the controls right inside your own OBS.

Are my stream keys safe?

Destination keys stay on the server: after you save one, the panel only shows a hint of it. Input links are hidden until you ask for them, so they don’t leak on a screen share.
